Eating healthy doesn't have to mean stuffing the tummy with salads all day. Although salads come in various flavors, and most are vitally nutritional, there are other ways to eat to gain your health back and lose some weight along the way.
So, what am I eating besides salads? I focus on macros which include proteins, unsaturated fats, and healthy carbohydrates. I'm putting together my own restaurant style menu and I'll have the macros pre-calculated so that I don't have to worry about that every time I need to eat. Who wants to sit and count calories all day?
You are worth every effort of investing in yourself. Take some time to learn about good sources of proteins, eating the right fats which are mono and poly unsaturated fats, and know what carbs to eat for your activity level for the day. I will use white rice when I know I'm going to be very active. Healthier options such as broccoli, which is said to slowly release energy, do not give me the energy I need to support an active day for me.
I eat by body type, and I don't use dietary supplements other than my normal daily vitamin/minerals. I do some exercise although not much because I don't want to build too much muscle and not lose weight. I did that in 2017. While I completely reshaped my body, I didn't lose a single ounce. I'm on a very personal journey to gain back my health and my life. You can read my story here.
My journey may be slow, but I'm down a few sizes, I'm not fainting anymore, and my memory loss is improving so I'd say eating by body type (endomorph, ectomorph, mesomorph) has been the best choice for me.
